MEIJER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS POSTER
The Request
Meijer requested a poster/infographic they could print out and email to their employees containing information about all their employee development programs. The biggest challenge with this design was fitting all their needed content in an 11x17 design that also had a visual theme relating to the content, which the client specifically requested.
My Approach
After a lot of initial sketches and digital roughs of how I could fit all the content together in a clean layout, I landed on this design. Knowing the content was going to take up most of the poster, I decided I needed to utilize the background white space for my illustrated theme of workers climbing a mountain of progress. This way the visual concept still looked fully integrated and not forgotten in a small corner of this text heavy graphic.  As for the content, I made sure it was still easily readable in their colored blocks, and also added some iconography for each one to help emphasize the different sections. I specifically designed the layout of the blocks, title card, and focal point of the illustration in a manner that would guide the reader's eye from the title at the top and switchback through each staggered content block down to the bottom of the poster.
*Note: The content of the poster was replaced with Lorem Ipsum for NDA reasons.
